Claire Kaplan

Claire played Balthasar in Romeo and Juliet three years ago, and played Juliet this summer, both with LBSC. She is a recent graduate of Long Beach Poly High School, where she was featured as the Stage Manager in Our Town, Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown, Chris Gorman in Rumors, and Mrs. Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors. In three-and-a-half years with this company, Claire has also performed as Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew, Miranda in The Tempest, and Valentine Jones in Melissa Miller's original work, The Posthumous Affairs of Felson, Jones, and Lordygan, a role for which Backstage West christened her "a provocative young ball-buster." She cannot wait to start classes at UC San Diego in the fall where she will major in theatre and proudly join the ranks of starving artists everywhere.
