Old time radio show: Dark Fantasy: W is for Werewolf - 1942
This episode originally aired on NBC on February 13th, 1942. Dark Fantasy was a series dedicated to dealings with the unknown – tales of the weird, and adventures of the supernatural. The shows were excellent, with some stories way ahead of their time.
W is for Werewolf is about a man’s visit to the mysterious island home of a friend, which reveals a shocking discovery.
On a Country Road originally aired on November 16th, 1950, and starred Cary Grant, Cathy Lewis, and Jeanette Nolan. A couple, having had a lovely picnic, are heading home, trying to beat an incoming storm. On their radio, they hear of an escaped patient from a local mental hospital who has been murdering motorists on lonely country roads. Their car runs out of gas on just such a road as the rain and thunder become intense.
One of the great radio programs of the Golden Age of Radio, Suspense was subtitled “radio’s outstanding theatre of thrills.” Suspense usually featured leading Hollywood actors of the era.
